The Hallway 

Our bulletin board is themed “Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom” after the story. This bullitan board is where I post a lot of the children’s work and it changes by season throughout the year.

Reading Center

 

This is the reading center where children can go to read quietly or to get a book to bring back to their seats and read.

 AL's Place

 This is used as Al’s place.  Al’s Place is used for children to calm down, relax when they are upset, overwhelmed, or are having a rough day. Children are asked if they need to go and then they sit down hug some stuffed animals and calm down.

Center Chart

 

Everyday we complete reading centers. They are on a two week rotation. Children use this chart to see what center they have that day.

 Small Group

 This is where we meet to work together in small groups of 5-6 children. Each group is designed to meet the specific needs of the children and targets skills they need extra help with.

 Block Center

Here children build all kinds of creations and use their imaginations. It is here where kids can be kids!

 Housekeeping

 

Children use this center in the morning. In the center are some plastic food and housekeeping items. Children love using this center to act out daily living activities and to cook food for one another.

Our Carpet 

 This is where we spend a lot of our day, we read stories, sing songs,  complete our calendar, counting jar, and complete our whole group activities.

 Computers

 These views are of our classroom bulletin boards and computer center. We use the computer to go on child friendly websites or to use computer programs that add to the curriculum in the calssroom. As we learn new things I post it up on our bulletin boards for each subject. Our science board has all the parts of a tree labeled, as well as our science vocabulary words.

 Attendance 

 This is our attendance chart where children find their bus and then put their bus up on the chart to show that they are here.

 Stop Light

This is our stoplight that we use for behavior management. Every child has a clip and they start out on green each day. If I have to talk to them three times they move their clip to yellow and lose 5 minutes of recess. Then if I have to speak to them three more times they move their clip to red. If their clip is on red they get a note sent home, and loose 10 minutes of recess. Next if I have to speak to them again about their behavior they have to give their glip to me and I call home. Each child knows these consequences for their behavior and I stick to them with every child. However children can earn back a color by behaving well and following our class rules.

Lockers

 

These are our lockers where children put their coats, bookbags and all their papers.
